Have You Ever Hit a Brick Wall?

Have you ever hit a brick wall, something so solid and immovable that you can't see any way around it, no matter how hard you try? It can cause you to feel a failure, perhaps isolated from others, as despair and frustration set in. Life doesn't always go to plan; in fact sometimes we can feel that we're dealing with a problem so complex and unassailable that there are no options left from which we can salvage a good outcome.

7 Tips on Motivation to Gain Momentum

Sometimes because of situations people tend to worry but worry leads to fear and discouragement, but instead of putting your face to the ground, one must raise up in faith and find solutions to the things that worry them. Worrying serves no purpose it only gets us down and makes us lose focus. We need to get up and take action, by acting, we are taking control of our lives and circumstances. We are NEVER hopeless and anything is better than worrying.

Tip 1. Stop Listening to Negative Thoughts

Many times because of bad experiences, we tend to listen to that inner voice, the negative thoughts, the hurts and pains. These negativity discourages us from achieving anything in life. Make up your mind to be positive about life, envision yourself in the place and position you want to be in, like financially stability, establishing your business or even owning your dream home, whatever you choose to accomplish keep this in the forefront of your mind and work towards it.

Tip 2. Change Your Environment

Remove yourself from any negative environment or circumstances that do not encourage your success. You cannot do the same things over and over and expect different results. You must re-position yourself in order to move forward.

Tip 3. Prioritize Your Life

Ask yourself how important the situations are around you and set your priorities in order, this would help you to cope, then work on the most important ones first.

Tip 4. Associate Yourself with Like-Minded People

Find people who have the same or similar vision and share your vision with them get new ideas and encouragement. Also learn to encourage yourself by encouraging others and get excited about it.

Tip 5. Set Realistic Goals

Set goals that you know that you can accomplish within a specific time-frame, put a plan in place, envision your goal, see it, touch it, taste it in your heart and challenge yourself to meet those goals.

Tip 6.Gain Knowledge

There are a community of resources out there like internet, books, networking events, talking with others in your niche and more..that you can tap into to bring you encouragement and help you gain momentum to keep you moving forward. These resources would influence your motivation.

Tip 7. Take Risks

Learn to take risks you will never gain anything by doing nothing! Choose to live life to the fullest, it's up to you! Be willing to fail before you can even begin to succeed at anything. Failure should motive you to succeed and not to get you down. Never quit, there is a saying, "a quitter always loses", keep trying until something great happens. Never see yourself defeated, instead, see yourself with real potential and get busy moving forward!

10 Power Questions To Get You Motivated

There are times in life when we need to motivate ourselves. We often have big ambitions we want to achieve. Sometimes, however, the motivation and clarity we need evade us, and the limited timeframes we have mean we need to get busy when we simply lack the zest to do so.

The following are a set of simple questions we can ask ourselves to begin to create the direction, the clarity and above all the motivation for ourselves to act:

1. What is the highest vision for my career, my life and myself?

This is really a reminder question for us. A key element of a balanced life is to have a clear vision of who you want to be and where you want to take your career and your life. This question is an opportunity for you to create that vision (preferably on paper), or if you already have it, to remind yourself of it.

2. What's the bigger picture here?

This question follows on from the first. When you have your vision, your subconscious mind will start to think creatively about how you can begin to make that vision happen. What's the bigger picture here, allows you to keep your thinking at a higher level, rather than bringing it down to the detail of life too quickly.

3. What are the key activities I need to be engaged in to get me to where I want to be?

This is a great all-encompassing question that takes you down a level in terms of your thinking. The focus of this question is the key activities. These are the 20% activities that will give you 80% of your results (according to the Pareto Principle). Again, this keeps your thinking at a level that allows you to focus on just those things that will get you to your outcome in the best way possible. You are not down at the micro or detail level yet. A good way to approach this is to come up with a list of just 2-4 key activities. These will become your projects from which your key tasks will flow.

4. How can I leverage my time, energy and money?

Leverage means investing a small amount of your resources in such a way that you get results that are many, many times greater than that investment. It could be, for example, that you invest a given amount of your time, energy and money to acquire the time, energy and money of many others. This is a form of leverage that is used to very powerful effect, for example, in the business world, and is how many businesses grow from sole-entrepreneurship to global status. Therefore asking yourself this key question constantly, permits you to engage fully in those activities that will give you the greatest return on your time, energy and money.

5. Do I need outside help?

This question flows on logically from the previous. It opens up your thinking, and allows you to consider the fact that others may be able to help you in your quest. This question prevents you from getting caught up in believing that you have to do everything yourself. Often when we are in this mode we can easily become overwhelmed, and this can sabotage our results. It is therefore useful to be asking yourself this question constantly so that external resources regularly show up for you.

6. What is stopping me from moving forward?

Sometimes we don't consider this question, and simply try to achieve our aspirations in life. By considering what may be stopping you, you are giving yourself the chance to acknowledge what is going on for you at a deeper level. This can reveal blockages that go way back, that may even have begun in childhood and could still be affecting you today. By using key techniques such as Energy Therapy to clear psychological and emotional barriers, you can begin to move forward and work more effectively towards your outcomes.

7. Given who I am, where I am in life, who I want to be and where I want to be in life, how can I use the time I have to the greatest effect?

This question may be detailed, but it acknowledges that you may have a limited amount of time in which to act, and therefore recognises that you need to use that time wisely. It also acknowledges who you are and where you are in your life right now whilst recognising that you have aspirations to improve. This is a powerful question that encourages you to look beyond those activities that may seem urgent but may not at this moment in time be in the best interests of your overall vision.

8. What can I do?

The is another all-encompassing question that begins to bring your thinking down to the task level whilst allowing your subconscious to consider all the options open to you. It also focuses your mind on what you can do rather than what you feel you can't.

9. How can I get started?

Getting started is one of the most difficult parts of any project or vision accomplishment. Asking yourself how you can get started brings your focus back to the current moment, and allows you to decide what your first step is going to be. This point alone can open up numerous doors in your mind, and can begin to make what may have seemed overwhelming or impossible, possible.

10. How can I work smarter?

Once we've started on our journey towards our vision, we can often get caught up in the detail of the work, and risk losing both our focus and direction. The upshot is that we can become derailed and distracted, and the effectiveness of our work can suffer. Asking yourself at every stage of your journey How can I work smarter will help you to find better, more useful and more intelligent ways of achieving your aims.

Tony Robbins on How to Master the Game of Life

Around networking tables and coffee urns before the Tony Robbins session at the Inc. 5000 conference in San Antonio, attendees shared an open curiosity about the country's preeminent life coach--the man who incites audience members to walk on hot coals. The man who brought a woman onstage and emboldened her to break up with her boyfriend over the phone in front of hundreds of people. The man who inspired Marc Benioff to start Salesforce and then to jump off a bridge.

"Did you watch his documentary on Netflix?" an attendee asked me beforehand. "I thought it was going to be evangelical, but he swears like anybody else ..."

But Robbins isn't really like anybody else. He's big. He's direct. He comes at you with signature energy and in very plain English.

"How many of you got into business to fulfill an emotional need? How many of you got into business to have more free time?" he asked the room of several hundred barely caffeinated business leaders, some of whom raised their hands. "Yeah, how's that shit working for ya?"

That plain English engendered a sense of trust and camaraderie that was buoyed by touches of neurolinguistic programming and yoga and even a Louis CKism. By the end of the session, he had those professionals in business clothes dancing like kids at a Coachella DJ set.

Here are a few of the most compelling takeaways:

1. Find your own fulfillment outside of your business.

"Most of you are making your businesses based on what fulfills you, not on what fulfills your client," explained the man who has a piece in 31 companies netting more than $5 billion. "What more of us do in businesses making under $50 million is we think of what we need and want in life, and shape the product after that. But you need to fall in love with your ideal client, not your ideal product or service. Beyond your business, find what fulfills you. Then, create your business to fulfill your client."

2. Lead by example (and that example should be high energy).

In business or in life, you can't do much without energy, Robbins said. You can have two people who love each other very much, but if they're in bad moods all the time because they're not getting enough sleep, the kids are making trouble, the house is a mess, the bills need to be paid, then the relationship is going to be low energy and it's going to suffer, Robbins explained. To make something last, you need passion, and passion requires energy.

3. Get your energy up by doing.

Robbins explained that you get your energy up by getting out of your head and doing things, especially things that scare you. Studies have shown that people retain more and are more emotionally engaged when they're physically engaged: or as Robbins put it, "motion creates emotion."

Before the audience had even laughed, before it had danced or yelled, Robbins was an example of the energy he wanted to see--passing up and down the aisles with big gestures, good projection, and lots of clapping. When the energy felt low in the room, when people weren't responsive, Robbins got people on their feet to do things. He gave them the freedom to show aggression (by yelling "I own you!" to a nearby stranger), to show affection (by massaging someone in their proximity), and even to be foolish (by dancing in intentionally silly ways with those around them). The more people acted, the more the momentum in the room picked up.

4. Impress people with what they're really thinking.

At one point, Robbins asked for two purses from two different women in the room: One had a $2,000 Louis Vuitton Neverfull bag and the other had a $30 purse from a store by her home. Robbins asked the Louis Vuitton owner if she would have bought the other woman's purse: "Maybe," the LV owner said. "No, you wouldn't," Robbins responded, and got her to admit to an audience of her peers that she bought the Louis Vuitton bag for what it says about her level of success.

He repeated the same survey for the men in the room, this time with cars, homing in on one attendee who volunteered that he owned a Ferrari (but would never drive a Tesla).

"Why do you have a Ferrari?" Robbins asked the man.

"Because it's badass," he replied.

"Why wouldn't you buy a Tesla?"

"Because I'm a man."

Robbins then asked for the hands of audience members who owned Teslas.

"Let's introduce you to someone who has a Tesla," Robbins said to the Ferrari owner, and then walked to the side of the room to find Inc. 5000 speaker and Gravity Payments CEO Dan Price.

"Why did you want a Tesla?" Robbins asked Price, who made big news when he established a base salary of $70,000 for every person at his company.

Price answered earnestly: "Because I've always wanted one. Also, I'm into practicality."

5. Once you've impressed people and earned their trust, you can ask them to do things they wouldn't normally do, which engenders more trust.

The exchanges Robbins facilitated between the two purse owners and the Ferrari driver and Price created a shift in the audience--people were entertained and impressed, in part because he got people to say things that go unsaid. It was just after this that Robbins was able to sort a room of professionals into groups of three and get them to massage one another through their clothes. (Maybe it helped that the music was loud and the lights were dim.)

6. Choose to be happy, no matter what.

The most important decision you make--before whom you love and choose to spend time with--is to be "in a beautiful state" everyday. Robbins explained that a beautiful state is different for everyone, but it's essentially a state in which you are happy, playful, bold, and creative, and it's a decision. "Billionaires are becoming a dime a dozen. What's harder to find is people who are happy." Robbins said. "Your two-million-year-old brain is not designed to make you happy. It's designed to make you survive, which means it's always looking for what's wrong." To be happy, you have to learn what's right, Robbins said. To be happy, you have to "know your favorite flavor of suffering"--fear, anxiety, depression, denial--then free yourself from it.

Robbins added that it's easy to be happy when everything is going correctly, but the bigger you get, the more people you employ, the more things you do, the less likely everything is going to go well all the time. "I have 1,200 employees," Robbins said. "What are the chances someone is effing something up somewhere?" Probably higher than you'd like to think. So you have to learn how to be happy independent of outcome.
